My name is Jamie Waggoner. I’m an author, activist, community leader and creative professional.

Jamie: a smiling woman in her 40s with a short, pixie-style haircut and long gold fringe earrings. She is looking forward at the camera.

My current creative work focuses on nonfiction, documentary film production, and the occasional print design project — I grew up in the 90s and I still love making zines.

I’m also a student of philosophy, spirituality, mysticism, and the occult. As a Pagan high priestess and community leader, I create transformative workshops, rituals, sacred circles, and learning programs for people of many spiritual backgrounds (and skeptics, too).

I am a certified Level I Trainer in Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation. I endeavor to carry forward the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s leadership and nonviolent activism in my life, projects, and relationships.

My first full-length nonfiction book, Hades: Myth, Magic and Modern Devotion, is available now! (Llewellyn, Feb 2024)

My background of 25+ years in the creative industry, as well as the depth of skills and experience I’ve gained through community leadership roles, lends itself to a variety of exciting collaborations.

The Sisterhood Movie

A unique program of spiritual inquiry and community building. Our learning modules, immersion programs, and circles embrace adults of all backgrounds and genders who are ready to learn a powerful skill set for transformation and growth. Way of the Weaver is rooted in values of service, inclusive community, critical analysis of the oppressions that bewitch our society (capitalism, colonialism, racism, etc.), and deep respect for ancestral spiritual traditions from around the world.

Jamie explores the Antro della Sibilla (Cave of the Sibyl) in Cuma, Italy. This site is popularly known as the entrance to the Underworld in Virgil’s Aeneid.

My nonfiction often features folk practices, lore, rituals and mythology associated with death and dying. Far from a melancholy pursuit, I see knowledge and praxis gained in these areas as vital emotional and spiritual intelligence for our changing times.
